How Can the Reliability of Radioecological Assessment Models Be Improved?
نویسنده
چکیده
INTRODUCTION Assessment models are widely used to estimate the radiation exposure originating from routine or accidental releases of radionuclides into the environment. The major criterion for their quality is the reliability of their results. In this context reliability means that the results of model calculations are in fairly good agreement with the expected or observed contamination of the environment, thus yielding reliable estimates of the dose to man. Reliable results of assessment models are essential for radioecological impact statements, estimates of dose due to annual releases and estimates of dose in the case of accidental releases. Radioecological models consist of three components: the model structure itself, i.e. number and types of compartments and their interrelations, the radioecological parameters, like transfer factors, deposition velocity, etc., and the assumptions on the living habits of man and agricultural practices. The aim of the paper is to point out conceptual sources of uncertainties and give some ideas how these uncertainties could be reduced.

An Improved Algorithm for Network Reliability Evaluation
Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) is a data structure proved to be compact in representation and efficient in manipulation of Boolean formulas. Using Binary decision diagram in network reliability analysis has already been investigated by some researchers. In this paper we show how an exact algorithm for network reliability can be improved and implemented efficiently by using CUDD - Colorado Univer...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation to Compare Markovian and Neural Network Models for Reliability Assessment in Multiple AGV Manufacturing System
We compare two approaches for a Markovian model in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) using Monte Carlo simulation. The model which is a development of Fazlollahtabar and Saidi-Mehrabad (2013), considers two features of automated flexible manufacturing systems equipped with automated guided vehicle (AGV) namely, the reliability of machines and the reliability of AGVs in a multiple AGV jobsho...
متن کاملHow Useful Are Early Economic Models?; Comment on “Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modelling”
Early economic modelling has long been recommended to aid research and development (R&D;) decisions in medical innovation, although they are less frequently published and critically appraised. A review of 30 innovations by Grutters et al provides an opportunity to evaluate how early models are used in practice. The evidence of early models can be used to inform two types...

A set of technical, administrative and management activities are done in the life cycle of equipment, to be located in good condition and have proper and expected functioning. This is refers to be, maintenance management system (MMS). The framework and models of assessment in order to enhance effectiveness of a MMS could be proposed in two categories: qualitative and quantitative. In this resea...
متن کاملReliability and Availability Improvement in Economic Data Grid Environment Based On Clustering Approach
Abstract - One of the important problems in grid environments is data replication in grid sites. Reliability and availability of data replication in some cases is considered low. To separate sites with high reliability and high availability of sites with low availability and low reliability, clustering can be used. In this study, the data grid dynamically evaluate and predict the condition of t...
